The Things I Like About Her

“It feels like I was just made to hear how painfully smitten you are……”
The next day, I called Renya to a family restaurant and explained yesterday’s incident. I then asked him for help, hoping he could do something, but for Renya, he made a face like he had gotten diabetes or something. I don’t get it.
“No, well, I do feel bad, you know. I really just wanted to know Kazunari’s feelings at that time after all. It’s just that, while listening, I got somewhat irritated……got aggravated. I regret nothing”
“Haa……”
You sure have the gall to say that with a sunny look huh, Renya. I got taken aback before I even got angry, and all I could do was sigh.
“I mean, the person himself doesn’t have the self-awareness of his love despite being that lovey-dovey, you know. You can’t blame me for telling you that much at least, right”
“I have no recollection of being lovey-dovey though. Rather, you are the one to say when you guys are the ones being lovey-dovey”
Even after summer break came, we have been calling Renya and Nishikida-san, the two of them, to our house occasionally and having study meets. It is something we had talked about previously, and as expected, it is fun to study together with friends after all.
It’s just that, maybe because both of them are deeply in love, they create a world with just the two of them every now and then. Totally forgetting about the existence of Yae and me. I do not want to hear about being lovey-dovey from someone like that.
“No, I think there is more lovey-dovey on Kazunari’s side”
“What are you on about. It is obviously more on Renya’s side, right”
“Kazunari’s side is more”
“No, it is Renya’s side”
“Excuse me. Here are, the hamburg steak set meal and omurice1. Are these all of your orders?”
“Ah, yes”
“Then, please present this when you are footing the bill”
The dishes we ordered just now arrived when Renya and I were having a pointless squabble. After looking at the employee-san, who places them down and leaves, both of us look at each other’s faces.
“In any case, let’s eat first, shall we”
“Yeah”
“”Itadakimasu“”
What I ordered is an omurice with runny eggs. It’s not like I cannot make it at home either, but when I consider the effort and the number of eggs used, I end up making it with a thin omelette. Yae seems fine with it after all.
“As I thought, shops like these are nice as well, but the ones Kazunari makes sure are more delicious”
“Is that so? Hearing that actually makes me happy”
“Make it for me again next time”
“Sure. Let’s talk to Nishikida-san about it as well and have something like a takoyaki party again”
Since the study meets are in the evening, both of them come to our house after having lunch. And since we disband at about 6 in the evening, we decide to have dinner in our own homes respectively.
Food expense-wise as well, I want to hold back on cooking Renya and Nishikida-san’s share every day, but I suppose it is fine occasionally. What should I go for if we are going to eat together……a soumen2 party or something? It sure is a bit surreal huh.
Leaving that aside, I thought of one thing I want to ask. I guess let’s try slightly asking it.
“Speaking of which, what does Renya like about Nishikida-san?”
“What, huh……I like both her face and personality, and it is fun when we are together after all. And something like this is kinda inappropriate, but her figure is good”
“True enough”
You can tell Nishikida-san’s good proportions even from above her uniform after all. I suppose it would draw the attention of any man. I was slightly surprised when I first saw it as well after all.
“On the other hand, what about Kazunari. Leaving the romantic feelings and whatnot out of the picture, what do you find nice about Nakamatsu-san?”
“What, huh……”
Hmm, I have never given it a proper thought. First, I think her facial features are adorable from a biased perspective. Her short height is also like a small animal, and it is endearing.
There is nothing about her personality or whatnot that bothers me, and it being fun to be together with her is something I feel the same as Renya. Her figure is……I don’t quite know since I have never looked at her with such eyes. Well, I do not dislike it.
I guess the only thing I can call Yae’s weakness is household chores, but I am capable of this, so it does not bother me. All in all, my answer is……
“I guess everything”
“Ah, okay”
Renya ended up being slightly taken aback by me for some reason when I answered honestly. I don’t get it.
